WOVEN HEART BAG
by Adrienne Lubbe

Supplies required - 2 sheets of contrasting
colours of cardstock, ribbon and flowers

Cut cardstock into two strips 10cm or 4" wide

Fold the strips in half to create a short fat piece "hamburger fold"
(not a long narrow piece "hotdog fold")

On the open ended side (opposite the fold) make a pencil marking
2,5cm or 1" from the top of the page

Divide the remainder of the page into four 2,5cm or 1" sections

Cut those sections through both layers to create 'fingers'
which are joined at the base by the fold.
Repeat all the above on the red cardstock.
Erase all pencil lines.

Start weaving the folded end of one red 'finger' through the
white 'finger'.

Next thread the white 'finger' through the red 'finger' and
complete the row.

Repeat, using the same technique, but just alternating the colours.

You may need to bend the cardstock to get the final pieces in place.

Draw a scallop at the top of each finger and cut through both
layers.
repeat on the red side. Erase any pencil markings.

Here is the completed bag.

Attach a piece of ribbon to each side of the bag with a stapler.

Decorate the bag with layered flowers on both sides to hide the
staples

Use the bag for chocolates, a small gift, a gift voucher or
even create a page with it. (only place flowers on one side then.)
