MAPPING OUT YOUR
SCRAPPING
by Adrienne Lubbe

> Find an old atlas and
colour copy the relevant
map for your page.

> Using a thick pen, draw in
the route you followed.
> More details can be added
in the form of rub-ons.
> Brads can also be used on
destination spots.

> Collect maps from the area in which you
travel.
> Use photos to "illustrate"
the map.
> Ink the edges of the
map.

> Maps make a great opening
page for a travel album.
> Cut around the sea side of the
map with a pair of
deckle-edge scissors so that
you still get to read
the names of towns printed 'in
the sea'
> Point out your destination
with an arrow.

> In this case the map was
too bright, so I covered it with vellum.
> To highlight your
destination, cut a hole in the vellum and place
a slide fame around it.

> Print small numbers, punch
them out and place
them in the relevant spot on
the map.
> Add the same numbers to
corresponding
photos on the opposite page.

> Here Glenda tore up a map
and used it to embellish the page.
The intention is not to read
the map but to use it as a
patterned paper.
