KNOTTED WINTER FLEECE BLANKET
by Glenda Cressy
1. Choose 2 pieces of fleece
track suiting any size you want.
I used 2 metres and it is 1,5 m
wide.
Choose 1 pattern fabric and 1
matching plain colour fabric
Place them with WRONG sides
together.

2.Trim the selvedges so that
the 2 pieces match exactly.

3. Pin around the blanket
about 10cm in from the edge

4. Cut out a 10 cm square on
each corner.

5. Cut fingers between 4 and
5cm in width and 10 cm long (in line with the square.)
As you get to the next cut-out
square you may have to adjust the fingers so that they fit in.
Go all the way around the blanket in
this way.

6.Fold both pieces of fabric
of each finger back, and with a sharp pair of scissors,
make a small cut ( about 0,5cm) as
close to the fold as possible.
Make sure you snip through both
pieces of fabric.

7.To knot each finger is a two step
process.
Take the top piece of fabric (in my
case the patterned piece),
and push it through the little cut
of the second piece of fabric (the plain piece).

8. Now, working with the same
finger, take the second colour of fabric (plain) which should at
this stage
be at the top, and push it through
the cut snip of the first piece (patterned) which should now be
at the bottom.

You have now "knotted" a
finger!
9.Go around the whole blanket doing
this to eachfinger and voila your blanket is made!

TIP: If you work with the plain
fabric at the top, your pattern shows in the knot around the
edge -
also very effective!
