DIFFERENT PHOTOGRAPHY OPTIONS
by Adrienne Lubbe
There are many
different options to try when taking photographs.
I am just
going to high light a few of them...

We have been
taught that when taking photos indoors you must use a flash.
The above
photo shows the yellow cast one can get on photos when using a flash.

Why not rather
try a natural source of light?
The colour is
softer and far more flattering.
The shutter
will stay open for longer and without a tripod your photo
will display
definite signs of camera shake as shown above.

Try different
times of the day. The photo above was taken late afternoon showing a
more golden colour, whereas the photo below was taken in the morning
showing an even softer light.

- Take lots of
photos from lots of different angles.
- Remember to
change the camera from horizontal to vertical for some of the shots.
- Use natural
lighting if at all possible.
- Remember to
use a tripod (don't be lazy!)
- Take photos
at different times of the day.
- Try to get
the light to shine from behind giving you some back lighting which,
in the above
photo, makes the petals look so much more translucent.
Notice the big
improvement from the first photo to the last photo.
