CUTTING OUT PICTURES
by Adrienne Lubbe

You might come across a situation where you need to cut out a
picture
where there are areas of the background trapped within the
illustration,
such as within the handle section in this illustration.

It is always best to cut out the trapped, small sections first with
the
use of a craft knife rather than cutting out the whole picture and
then cutting
out the small trapped sections. The reason is that if the sections
become very fine,
they are less likely to tear if the picture is initially kept more
solid.

Once the trapped sections have been removed, one can then easily cut
around
the remainder of the picture using a pair of scissors.
